Accessing Invoice AI Rules
Abstract
Invoice AI Rules allow administrators to define “if-this-then-that” logic to refine how scanned vendor invoices are processed in NetSuite. Unlike general AI directions — which act more as prompts to the AI model — AI Rules apply structured logic after the scanning phase. This functionality is particularly useful for organizations with specific invoice handling requirements, such as routing based on vendor name or line item values. By configuring AI Rules, administrators can standardize invoice interpretation, reduce manual adjustments, and support consistent automation outcomes.
This article explains how to access the Invoice AI Rules section in Charted within NetSuite.
Navigating to the Invoice AI Rules Page
Before you can create or edit rules, you must access the correct area in the NetSuite platform. This ensures you are working within the Charted environment, where Invoice AI tools are configured and maintained.
Follow these steps to access Invoice AI Rules in Charted:
To start the process of setting up rule-based invoice logic, log in to your NetSuite account with an Administrator role or a role with sufficient permissions:
Once logged in, enter the configuration area by opening the Charted menu from the navigation bar, hovering over Charted, and then clicking on Settings:
Now, on the Charted Platform Features page, locate the Invoice AI section under My Features and click the Settings button to the right:
From the Invoice AI Settings page, to access the rule creation interface, click on the Invoice AI Rules button:
Once on the Charted OCR Rule List page, check whether any rules have been created. If no rules are listed and a message indicates (No records to show), proceed to create a new Invoice AI rule:
This concludes the process of Accessing Invoice AI Rules in a NetSuite account using Charted.
